Lakeland Industries Attends FDIC 2021

Lakeland Industries is always honored to play a role in protecting those who protect us, and FDIC 2021 gave us the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with these individuals – to really hear what they value and what works well in their field.

Despite being postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, FDIC 2021 was a huge success. Thousands of members of the Fire and Rescue service came together to not only explore the latest innovations in the industry, but also to join together and celebrate the brotherhood and comradery that runs deep.

If you were able to stop by booth 1201, we hope you got a chance to speak with our wonderful sales team and get the full experience of Lakeland Fire gear. Our team had displays of our turnouts, wildland gear, extrication gear, and dual-certified gear.

Visitors were able to really interact with the garments and our expert sales team, Brian Stewart and Eric Baker. These guys not only know their stuff, but they have a profound respect for the service that is evidenced by their years of dedication and growth with departments and partners.

FDIC Firefighter Combat Challenge with Sean Sullivan

And, of course, this year’s FDIC Firefighter Combat Challenge was a big hit.

Sean “Sully” Sullivan participated in Stealth turnout gear and brought home several awards for his performance. As a Master Sergeant with the 445th Civil Engineer Squadron and Retired Captain, Sean has been competing in combat challenges all over the world for many years, and we’re honored that he’s chosen Lakeland gear for these races.

This year, Sean placed 2nd in the Over 40 division, 6th Overall, and 3rd in Teams on the course.

Click here to check out our full interview with Sean on his love for family and serving in the fire service, as well as the role Lakeland Stealth gear plays in his training and success in Combat Challenges.

Lakeland Stealth Turnout Gear

So, how does Lakeland Stealth stand out? Our Stealth™ coat design incorporates a lower back draw cord that cinches the extra material from the front of the coat to rapidly adjust while firefighters place their SCBA apparatus on their backs. This precise design focuses on saving energy and time while preparing for the emergency.

Our knee and shoulder pleats maximize mobility, reducing the bulkiness often found in competing gear. With exclusive features, Stealth™ Turnout gear was specifically designed in consideration of the athletic performance of firefighters and their fast response times.

With many volunteer stations driving the heart and soul of the Fire Service, Lakeland was excited to offer visitors with volunteer departments the opportunity to win a set of our B2 turnout gear. The B2 gear includes LazerMax™ reflective piping system, our exclusive EasyGrip DRD system, pleated shoulder and knee drop for maximum mobility, and segmented Comfort Trim™.

FDIC Raffles & Giveaways

Along with the B2 Turnout gear giveaway, Lakeland Industries surprised guests with the opportunity to win a free YETI cooler, BRÜMATE sets, and Amazon gift cards. We’ll be announcing winners soon, so be on the lookout for a call from Lakeland!

In just a few short days, FDIC 2021 told a story of comradery, brotherhood, and passion. Powerful testimonies representing the unity a few seconds could hold between one man and a life needing to be saved, further solidified our mission as Lakeland Industries to continue to protect those who protect us. We look forward to sharing stories and commemorating true bravery when FDIC returns for the 2022 season.
